Transit

Transit is a unique creation for the Heather Collection at TSAR Carpets, inspired by an unexpected moment of urban beauty. While riding the Q train home from work, I was captivated by the shimmering lights reflecting off the metal slats of the subway car's ceiling. The rhythmic movement of the train enhanced this effect, and I quickly captured it with my phone. This serendipitous image was the genesis for 'Transit.' At home, I abstracted the photo in Photoshop, translating the dynamic play of light and shadows into a sophisticated design. The final rug design was meticulously refined and prepared for production in Illustrator, ensuring the translation of this fleeting subway scene into a tangible piece of art.
